St. Vrain Holiday Show

This past December, Emma Lujan and Scott Vail manned a holiday show at St. Vrain. Emma Lujan stated,
“Thank you to our Mora community for supporting the Lujan Vail Partnership pop up Christmas market at St. Vrain Mill for the month of December.

Our goal was to reintroduce 3 local artists from Mora to Mora.  We have been at Millfest in Cleveland for a few years, and the opportunity to use the St. Vrain mill was an easy decision.”

Emma Lujan sold her hand made pottery with intricate wax relief designs in bright colors.
Scott Vail sold his wildlife photographs with a colorful display of our valley’s birds, elk, and landscapes.  Carolyn Vail’s fiber arts, included crocheted hats, scarves, sweaters, vests, and fun wine glass lanyards.

The Lujan-Vail partnership reported that they were very pleased with so much support through sales from our local community. Visit their work online at facebook/cazuelaspottery and scottvailphotography.com

People have asked, “What is a pop up?” There are pop-up restaurants, art shows, store fronts… It is an opportunity to have a temporary space to interact with the public. Sometimes they are only for a day or two, up to a month. A pop–up shop is a short-term, temporary retail space where brands can interact in person with current customers and communicate their message to potential new ones.

The Mora Creative Council and the Mora County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) would like to assist in organizing 5+ pop-up storefronts in Mora during the month of July. If you know of a space that would potentially be suitable, please contact us at OurMoraNM@gmail.com. Artists/businesses are responsible for negotiating with property owners, insurance, etc… The Mora Creative Council & MCEDC will help with marketing, organizing, bringing in resources for display and other professional resources.
