2021 Annual Meeting & Report
Every year, the Mora Creative Council hosts an annual meeting. This serves as a way to gain community input on our projects, share our progress throughout the previous year, and inform the community about our upcoming programs and projects. This year, our annual meeting will look a bit different, but will be taking place nonetheless!
On April 3rd, please join us in-person and virtually for this year’s annual meeting. We will be hosting an Easter themed scavenger hunt, with 20 eggs hidden throughout Main Street. Families can print out or pick up a scavenger hunt form and fill it out as they search for the eggs. Then, they can bring the form to our tent in the Russell’s parking lot. If all eggs are accounted for, the family will receive a goody bag full of books, candy, and activities! We will also be taking t-shirt orders and announcing this year’s youth summer camps and other upcoming projects.
The MCC has also been working hard on various beautification projects throughout our Main Street district. On April 3rd, you can expect to see that the banner brackets on the lamp posts have been fixed and new banners and planter boxes have been placed throughout town. We are also very excited to announce that we have been working with New Mexico Main Street, Ground Works Studio, and the Mora Veterans' Group to develop and implement plans for a Mora Plaza & Veterans’ Memorial. This plaza will be in the area of the County Complex, David Cargo Library, and Senior Center, and is intended to be a place that the community can use for leisure and events alike. We will have renderings of the plaza and memorial designs on display at Russel’s for our annual meeting, as well as a virtual community input session at 1:00 p.m.
We are thrilled to be able to host this event and share our projects with our community, so please join us to hear the latest from the Mora Creative Council!
